Cabbage Pancake
Ingredients (for 2 pancakes):
- 4 tbsp grated cabbage
- 2 tbsp wheat flour
- 1 tbsp chickpea flour
- 1 egg or 4 tbsp yoghurt
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Water (as needed, to adjust batter consistency)
- Salt (to taste)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp red chili powder or ground black pepper
- A pinch of asafoetida
- Groundnut oil (for cooking)
Process:
- Mix the above ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
- Heat a pan on medium flame and add a small amount of groundnut oil when hot.
- Pour the batter onto the pan and spread it evenly to form a pancake.
- Lower the flame and cook for about 2 minutes.
- Flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear.
- Repeat flipping 2 more times, ensuring both sides are evenly cooked.
- Serve hot and enjoy your cabbage pancakes with ketchup or chutney.
