Shivthar Ghal, Gandharpale Caves, Raigad Fort, Palicha Ganpati
Day 1
- Left Mumbai at 6 am for Shivthar Ghal via the Mumbai-Goa Highway route.
- Stopped at Shri Datta Snacks Corner at Panvel for breakfast.
- Reached Shivthar Ghal at 1 pm. (‘Dasbodh’, Advaita Vedanta spiritual text was orally narrated by Saint Samarth Ramdas Swami in these caves)
- The best season to visit Ghal is during monsoon from July-September as it’s greener and has a few lively waterfalls.
- Lunch timings at Shivthar Ghal are from 12-1 pm; they serve Khichadi as Prasad.
- Checked in to PG Regency Resort at 3 pm.
- One can visit the Gandharpale Caves in the evening. (a group of 30 Buddhist caves)
Day 2
- Checked out at the hotel at 6 am.
- Reached Raigad fort basement at 6:30 am. (This fort was the capital of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.)
- Ropeway waiting time is around 2/3 hours on weekends.
- Ropeway timings are from 8 am to 5 pm.
- Visited the Raigad fort from 9 am-12 pm; we hired a guide to see a few points on the fort.
- Lunch (Pithle Bhakri) at Sunita’s home on the fort.
- Back to the basement by ropeway at 2 pm.
- Started for Mahadacha Ganpati at Pali via Pachad Road.
- Reached the temple of Lord Ganesha at 4 pm. (This is one of the Ashta Vinayaka temples.)
- At 6 pm we began our journey to Mumbai via the Khopoli route.
- Back to Mumbai at 10 pm.
