Brown Bread Recipe

Baking experiment: Brown Bread 🍞
Turned out soft and crusty!

🌾 Ingredients for 2 loaves:

  1. Wheat flour made for baking – 0.5kg
  2. Yeast – 1TB
  3. Tepid water to dissolve yeast – 325ml
  4. Sunflower seeds – 1TB
  5. Olive oil – 2TB

  1. Mix the ingredients and knead it thoroughly. πŸ₯£
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth for 1.5 hours. 🍹
  3. Split the dough in half. πŸ”ͺ
  4. Shape each piece into a rectangle and place it on a flour-dusted tray. Sprinkle some flour on the dough as well. πŸ₯–
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes at 180°. 🍽️
  6. Apply butter on top to make the crust soft. {optional} πŸ₯ͺ

Tip: It is believed that salt and sugar should not be mixed with yeast because it reduces the chances for the dough to rise. Hence one can add them later to the dough.
